First we wrote the equation like 7 892 divided by 6.
- How many 6’s going into 7? 1 and 1 left over
- Put 1 up and the 1 left over next to the 8.
- How many 6’s go into 18? 3 so put 3 up.
- How many 6’s go ito 9? 1 up and 3 left over so put next to the 2.
- How many 6’s into 32? Which 5 so put 5 up and a little 2 on its own. That means a decimal is needed.
- How many 6’s into 2, can’t do so call it 20? The answer is 3 so 3 up. 2 is left over again so it will keep repeating so the answer is…
1315.33 reoccuring so put a dot above the second 3 to show this.
I found that the hard part was seeing how many times they went into each other and how many remainders.
Have you done any short division before???? Have you got another way do to it?
